“The Big Dog” Trailer
A few months ago, my awesome employers at Funny or Die told me they would like to see me try and branch out and do something longer than your standard 3 to 5 minute sketch. My good friend Charlie Sanders had just moved here from NY, so we got together and wrote a 19 page script based on a character he used to do in his one-man show at UCB, “You’re Welcome For What You’re About To See” - a down and out regional pizza chain manager named Ron.
FOD loved the script, so we moved forward with the project, did a few rewrites, and assembled an AMAZING cast including Bob Odenkirk, Nelson Franklin, Rich Sommer, Jessica St. Claire, and Andrew Astor (who you might recognize as Little George Bush from the Little 911 sketch on “Human Giant”). Along with my crew (which included my favorite DP in the world, Christian Sprenger, who has shot every awesome looking video I’ve ever made) we shot for 5 days at the beginning of November.
We’re just putting the finishing touches on the score and FX, and should be mixing sound in the next few weeks. I don’t have the solid date yet, but I believe we are premiering the short in its entirety on FOD in early March. I can’t wait. Making this film was the most fun I’ve ever had on a project and I’m very proud of the end result. I can’t wait for you all to see it!
P.S. If you think my film looks cool, please Digg the trailer and spread it around as much as you can!
not only am i overwhelmingly attracted to that dude i just recognized from mad men, but um. pizza is my favorite thing. that clip of all the pizza slices floating around is literally what my dreams look like. and also my real life. because that’s LUNCH AND DINNER AND SOMETIMES EVEN BREAKFAST BECAUSE I AM JUST BONKERS! if i were to hold an airport hangar full of antique cars hostage (looking at you, leno) my demands would be that dude from mad men (in his mad men glasses though, cos ohhhhmygoodezz they give me the vapors) so much pizza, and the full version of this internet film. true story.
This is one of those clips I’ve seen floating around but took me a while to actually watch. Now that I have, I can’t...
I demand that it be early March now.
